TEACHER TOOLBOX
The attached documents are what you will need to print out and hand to your students prior to doing the Comparative Analysis lesson. The first document is for Segement 1: Early Life, and the second document is for Segement 2: Warning Signs; The Road to Genocide. I have also included some extra things that I feel are good supplements to both Segements 1 and 2.

SUPPLEMENT 1: PHOTO PROJECT
The photo project is a modified version of a project created by United States Holocuast Memorial Museum Teacher Fellow Aimee Young. A link to her full project can be found by clicking here. The modified version of the project is designed as an enrichment activity that will enforce the idea that all of us are the same, that we all have families and friends, customs, traditions, and a love for one another. The assignment reinforces the notion that we need to stop thinking in terms of an US and THEM mentality and start thinking in a WE mentality. This assignment helps us recognize and understand when groups or individuals engage in classification, symbolization for group marking, and other possible warning signs, and by knowing and understanding, we can combat it and end it. Click on the downloadable file below for instructions on how to complete the assignment and worksheets needed for the assingment. The video below is an example of a finished project I did with my Holocaust and Genocide Studies class, using Animoto for Educators. Movie Maker or I Movie could easily be used as well.
